Several Problems with dvd2svcd

[1] Had error about not being able to create image and then crash recovery said list out of bounds(had to restart dvd2svcd). It can't create the titleimage or change disk image.

[2] I deselected the above and it encoded it with CCE and then when it tried to use the next phase a warning popped up telling me to select audio streams?????? I looked at the settings and I'm not sure what they are asking for.

[3] Every time I use the crash recovery, it goes backwards a step. For example, it did it's audio work, then failed to create title image. Crash recovery started over at audio part. Then bbmpeg failed and now it wants to start CCE over again, this is very time consuming.

3)Some things are still not clear. You end up with more free space on your HD than you started with. Then, 4pass VBR in 2h50?
4)It seems none of the steps are being finished. Of the 7 vobs to be ripped, only 6 ended up on your harddisk, etc etc.

Try and give as much info as possible: have you been successful before? What about hardware (are you overclocking?), OS, dvd2svcd settings, the lot.

hmmm - where to start?

1. Is this happen for all DVDs you try to convert or is this the first one with troubles?

2. You should try to delete all files belonging to the failed conversion and try to start over with a new conversion - I know this is hard but it seems that something is messed up.

3. Try to not downsample to 44.1kHz audio as it is really not necessary because each DVD player plays 48kHz audio just fine (saves you some time too)

4. if that all fails, try to use smartripper and rip the VOBs and the IFO to a directory on your harddrive then start dvd2svcd and use the internal routines to re-rip from the harddrive (usually the internal routines are the best choice for ripping but they can sometimes fail on some DVDs)

5. Is your PC usually working stable?

Drive C 40 gig
Drive E 30 gig

I have been successful with other methods, just my first attempt with dvd2svcd.

My system has been super stable, until yesterday, I was encoding and it suddenly went from 0:47 remaining to 20:00 hrs remaining and has been somewhat sluggish ever since, but still no crashes or system problems.

I accidentally hit the load button forcrash recovery before I even started encoding, maybe that affected how it ran?

1)reboot
2)empty your c:\program files\dvd2svcd\movie folder
3)start from scratch
4)like gerti mentioned, no need to downsample audio
