Hello, dear all.
I like to use PotPlayer. But some days ago it seems that something weird happened here concerning PotPlayer on my pc.
The program can open Ok videos. But can't reproduce the sound on this videos. Even MP3 can't be heard.
Maybe some settings I messed up by mistake? Other players like VLC plays the videos just fine.
Thanks for your time.
PS: I reinstall this program with an updated version but nothing worked. If I use a PotPlayer portable version the sound plays OK.
Best regards.

Be sure that you have C:\Program Files (x86)\DAUM\PotPlayer\Module\FFmpeg\FFmpegMininum.dll
And then F5->initialize

Hi. In my Potplayer folders doesn't exist " \FFmpeg\FFmpegMininum.dll" as you said it should exist.
I created and did what you said. But does not work. The sound continues "mute". I can't even play MP3 files using Potplayer. The program open and process the files, but the sound does not appear.
What should I do now?
Thanks for your helping.
Best regards.

http://get.daum.net/PotPlayer/v3/Module/FFmpeg/FFmpegMininum.dll (For 32-bit PotPlayer use)
http://get.daum.net/PotPlayer64/v3/Module/FFmpeg/FFmpegMininum64.dll (For 64-bit PotPlayer use)
Did you initialize?
If it still doesn't work, Press 'Ctrl+F1' during playback and post the whole screenshot here.

Hi.
try to uninstall windows patch KB4012212 and reboot
How can I do that? Such action will do something on my PC?
Or do you find some odd behavior on my PC? Nowadays, I'm very concerned about ransomware or similar ones.
Thanks.

Try deleting this Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\LowRegistry\Audio\PolicyConfig\PropertyStore
This resets the audio volume of all your applications. It can fix weird mute issues.

KB4012212 causes potplayer mute, many users in my country comfirmed that.
Go to the Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates, find KB4012212 and uninstall it

Hi, dear all.
When I rename the "PotPlayerMini.exe" to other random name, like "PotPMini.exe" or something and try to execute the exe to open files, the sound appear again!
Any ideas to find a complete solution to solve that odd "behavior"? Or what could happened to my PC to make this like that nowadays?
Thanks again for your help!

@ clsid.
Hi. Not yet. I'll do it soon.
Do you point any particular program that can help me doing that task?
Or how can I find / delete such entry on my PC Registry key? Other players will continue working nice ( sound / video, etc ) after that, yes?
Thanks.
Best regards.

Registry Editor:
Start > run > regedit.exe
It is pretty simple to use. Yes, you can safely delete that entire key. It stores the volume settings of individual applications. It will just reset to default. Or you can use the search function to find the subkey belonging to potplayer.
