I read wrom this forum that the PAL Futurama and Simpsons DVDs were best encoded with Telecide() followed by Decimate(25) because the 25th frame is constructed from the 24th and 26th frames.
I'm just about to convert the Simsons DVD to SVCDs and was wondering what would be the ideal settings for SVCD. Could I use the same approach and convert PAL DVD to NTSC SVCD (480x480 23.976 fps -> 29.796 fps)? I'm just looking for the compression benefit NTSC has over PAL, with 480x480 I could probably fit 3 episodes easily on a 90 min CDR.
