Hi Folks,

A short overview of what i’m doing so far:

I’m running OBS Studio, trying to stream and record at the same time.
Therefor I am using a bitrate of 2500 kbit/s and the preset “Very Fast” at 720p@50.
The recording is done at 1152p@50.

My setup runs a I7-3930k and I have to watch (differs by the game I play) the CPU’s load that it does not reach 100%. With this circumstances in mind, i was thinking about to set the preset to “Ultra Fast”. I made a test recording and discovered, by a CRF of 18, that it creates “squares”. From my point of view CRF prevent those squares to appear.

And there is my question:
Is there a possibility to get the load off of the CPU (as far as possible) and prevent squares?
I hesitate to go with a CRF of 10.

You can get a look on it at the picture. It’s in the lower part in the darker areas and above the blue hp-bar.
