Hello. Well I had been using MeGUI with no issues at all trying to edit mp4 videos. FFDshow is installed but still have the same issue. Any help? thanks

You have mentioned much about what kind of video you are dealing with or any specific about your situation.
Also I have read change log and with latest version it require framework NET 4.0 for MeGUI? Do you have it.

Try opening the MP4 with MeGUI's file indexer (either the "Tools/File Indexer" or "File/Open" menu) and indexing with Lsmash or FFMS2. It sounds like you're trying to open it with DirectShowSource, which as a general rule should be a last resort method. You should post your MeGUI log file though because it could be lots of things, but the log file tends to be pretty informative.

thanks, the problem was that LAV splitter was being used instead of haali media splitter.

I noticed MEGui hasnt been updated in a long time. Is this still one of the best GUI tool to compress videos or there are better options now?

MeGUI updates its tools quite frequently.
Just switch to development update server.
