View Full Version : Best way to analyse frame structure?

I have a lot of BD-s including m2ts files (extras) with "i" content.
Some are soft-telecined, some are true interlaced....and some are hard telecined.

As far as I know, the only type of content BD-RB cannot recognize automatically is of hard-telecined. What is the current best method to analyse the content of those "i" files to be able to tell BD-RB what to do with those which are hard-telecined?

Thank you in advance for any help.
Any help would be appreciated.

View it frame by frame
Pattern of 3 progressive frames followed by 2 interlaced frames is hard telecine, I believe (3:2 pulldown)
All interlaced fields would obviously be interlaced
All progressive frames (distinct ) at 29.976fps should be soft telecine, flags used
Then of course you could have hybrid, etc
Hope I got the terminology right

Thanks, the preferred method to analyse frames is still using an avs script for each "extra" item and load that in Vdub/is there any faster method around?

The AVS >> VDub is the method I use
You should only need to look at 5 to 10 consecutive frames to get a rough idea
