Hi,

I have Popcorn Hour 500 player which can play 3d frame Packed Mkv's.

I Use makemkv to extract frame packed 3d mkv however the file size is north of 35 GB. Is there anyway I can compress this file while retaining Frame Packed Mkv's .

I know file size can be reduced by going Half Side By side but I want to maintain the full resolution. I don't want big reduction just somewhere around 20GB would be fine.

Thanks

Since the A500 supports 4K: try "full" SBS or T&B or frame sequential. (frame sequential has best coding efficiency).

I tried but what i want is a software which produces a video which is exactly like makemkv 3d but encoded in x265 or x264.

This software gives this message.

"Frame sequential" mode is not the same as what MakeMKV produces from 3D Blu-rays - which uses H.264 MVC, an extension of the H.264 codec for 3D. x264 does not support encoding videos in this way (although there used to be some third-party forks with that capability, but I do not know what happened to them).
