Require small help,I have bluray disc,protection is removed I want to save some space on my HHD so wanted to make mkv out of it,I use megui,but when I try to use ffmpeg it says it's not preferred container for ffmpeg, what should I do

To convert BluRay disk, even phisical and protected, to mkv's, selecting desired tracks, you can try MakeMKV (http://www.makemkv.com/)

Bro I want to make loseless rip with 1-2 gb file :)
And how benefical it is to add this "ConvertToYV12" to script,will that make difference in output in appreciable way,thanks for ur kind reply so far

Mkv's generated by MakeMKV are lossless, rip's to 1-2 GB are very lossy.

In order to rip BD sources you can still use MakeMKV to obtain the main movie mkv, or use MeGUI -> Tools -> HD Streams Extractor to obtain the mkv video, and extract/recode audio tracks and subs.

Recode after the video.mkv at your taste.
And how benefical it is to add this "ConvertToYV12" to script,will that make difference in output in appreciable way,thanks for ur kind reply so far

I have made one more thread but no one responded what m2ts filters should I use,ffmpeg is not for m2ts,I would love to directly encode from m2ts file rather than making remux and reducing audio file

I mean I m using megui,I m using x264 for converting it in mkv of small size,but m2ts container is not preferred for ffmpeg (of megui),thanks

If you have a Blu ray and want to convert it to MKV, there are other options (BD Rebuilder, MakeMKV).

That is because the decoders can't manage the video (h264) in m2ts container with frame accurate precission.

Read: Compatibility in http://avisynth.nl/index.php/FFmpegSource , for instance.

Even a main movie in BD can be composed for many m2ts files.
For instance the main movie of 'Brave' have 9 m2ts concatenated:
00801.mpls, 1:34:12 [952+960+954+961+956+1042+958+968+959].m2ts

The best option is always extract the h264 video from 1, or more, m2ts to another container (mkv or mp4) like I suggested before:
MakeMKV , or MeGUI -> Tools -> HD Streams Extractor (eac3to)

And after recode the video.mkv
