Hey I m new here,just scrolled through few pages can some one tell me how to encode bluray m2ts file to mkv,I use ffmpeg filter but when I scan source it says source not detected,what I should I do to encode best from megui

Hi rockydon,

Just-so-you-know...

The terms '.m2ts' and '.mkv' (along with .mp4, .avi, .mpg, .mov, etc) refer to container types - ie: the vessel that you place your video, audio and subtitle streams within.

No encoding needs to takes place, just muxing or re-muxing ;)

Okay... Have you removed the encryption from your Blu-ray disc?

MakeMKV is probably the typical choice most users would choose for converting from Blu-ray to mkv. (to just remux the content to mkv and if need be use MeGui or another converter to convert the remuxed mkv file to recompress the content)

Yes I did,I want to encode it to file size around 5-7 gb so I was looking for better tool which will gv lossless quality or better

Pls no had yet answer my queries I need to encode from m2ts file in megui,pls tell me avs script indexer to use,I waiting since long time for this thread,pls tell me I m a newbie here

The Bluray was not lossless anyway, to start with :)
This is per se a too much bigger subject to be discussed here, as it involves a lot of things. Like "I want to fix my car to reach 250mph" (other than in free fall :) ).
