I have a big problem with my first divx encoded dvd movie (with GKnot):
When I open it with the Playa, sound is played for half a second, then stoped, wait half a second and start again. Video is perfect.
Then i tried the WMP and had good audio, but very slow movie.
When I capture TV films with Virtual Dub, I have no Problems with the Playa.
What is wrong? I have encoded with divx4 and lame.

Thank you for help.

Bad audio in "the Playa" -- for some reason, this is one of two divx players that does NOT support vbr or abr mp3 audio. The other I'm aware of is their commercial DivXplayer.

Bad video:

WMP quality settings can be adjusted to improve image quality and/or performance. Settings changes depend on the release of WMP you are using.

For example: WMP7.1 can get improved fullscreen mode by turning on the "fullscreen mode switch" in tools...options...performance. Zoomed in window quality can be improved by sliding the DV knob closer to Small.

Another example: In WMP6.4, you can adjust DivX post-processing filters.
