In WinXP VFAPIConv 1.05 + AVIsynth 2.58 always worked, but the typical X10%.avs of form

DirectShowSource("..\00662 - 2 - h264, 1080p24.mkv")
SelectRangeEvery(300,30)

is pronounced not-valid in Win10, even with AVIsynth 2.6.0.

Tried the Win7/x64 mod suggested http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=151320&highlight=vfapi without success.

Any suggestions of other ways to do compression tests in Win10 x64?

TIA

Are you sure DSS is actually the source filter you need?

Always worked in WinXP, what alternative do you suggest?

DSS is an evil source filter, under any operating system.
You could replace it with FFMS, L-smash or DGDecode

Have used it for thousands of comptests, which give consistent results, don't use it for main encodes.
