Whatever they use is quite decent as hdtvtest.co.uk mentioned that Sony upscaler is the best they have seen in consumer TVs.

Surely similar but Sonys own IP and R&D most probably it was also allready used in PS3 times ;)

It surely is better overall then Samsungs R&D which is questionable if it's not overall heavy 3rd party influenced (codeved with Yuvsoft) ;)

Sony always fascinates me in those regards when it comes to their R&D Power, in so many fields. :D

In the same time Sony has problem with turning all of those R&D projects into real products and most important telling whole world about them.
