DVDSubEdit: "Ooops! The modified encoded subpic does not fit..."

Hey guys! Need some help as the following happens:
I edited the bmp subpic of a dvd menu. It consisted of small circles and I wanted to add the words from the menu image. But it turns out, when I want to replace the old subpic with the new one in dvdsubedit it gives me the message above. Is there some way to overcome this by any means? Please help! :(

Yes, you have to demux the whole subtitles stream, convert it (losslessly) to XML+BMP/PNG, replace the old BMP/PNG with a new image, reassemble the stream, then remux it back.

Tools: BDSub2Sup and pgcdemux and muxman.

The error message means that the new bitmap is larger than the old one, and it will not fit in the available space.
