As you can see there is no 'Cover' tag e.g. no picture/cover is attached to the FLAC. But when I drag FLAC into MPC HC player or VLC I can see a picture (see below). Then what is that depending on in fact ? I would like to understand how these cover are 'found' by MPC & VLC without cover has been effectively attached to the track. These tracks are a in folder with .cue, a .jpg and another files obtained with EAC Audio Copy. I am not sure but it seems these players 'load' somehow jpg file which is on the folder with these FLAC files.

I precise it is possible to 'attach' a cover to FLAC with MP3Tag ; then on MediaInfo we will see a tag called 'Cover' which I don't want to do.

I think they simply look for "cover.jpg" or "<base_name>.jpg" (and maybe some others too) in the same folder where the current media file is located. The exact logic may differ from player to player, of course.

(MPC-HC, for example, will also load additional audio tracks from separate audio files that have the same base-name as the video file)

But if I add another jpeg to the folder containing FLAC it doesn't seem to work. Well, this ne jpg doesn't seem to be recognized. Well it is weird.

Try rename that JPG as indicated and make sure it's smaller than 400px any side.
