Hey Guys,

first of all THANK YOU VERRY MUCH for this great piece of Software. I have been using it for years now without any problems.

But now i have one, and i don't wanted to Post it under "debug Thread" because im not sure if its a Bug or something dump i did.

My BD-Rebuilder worked fine together with DGDecNV for years. 2 Days ago i got myself a new PC (Asus Z170, Intel i7 6700k, GTX 1060). After i installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 i downloaded the new BD-Rebuilder 0.50.18 and set up every third party program like mentioned in the install post.

I also got my new DGDecNV license and installed it.

In BDR-Setup i checked "Use DGDecNV" and gave it the Paths it asked for.

But when i start encoding...

[16:05:49] Source: INDEPENDENCE.DAY.2.WIEDERKEHR.2016.MULTI.COMPLETE.BLURAY
- Input BD size: 28,70 GB
- Approximate total content: [02:09:28.175]
- Target BD size: 4,36 GB
- Windows Version: 6.2 [9200]
- Quality: High Quality (Default), ABR
- MVC 3D Output Mode enabled
- Decoding/Frame serving: FRIMDecode
- Audio Settings: AC3=0 DTS=0 HD=0 Kbs=640

Its telling something about "FRIMDecode" which isnt checked in Setup.

And after a few seconds i get:
[16:05:51] PHASE ONE, Encoding
- [16:05:51] Processing: VID_00000 (1 of 9)
- [16:05:51] Extracting A/V streams [VID_00000]
- [16:05:56] Reencoding video [VID_00000]
- Source Video: MPEG-4 (AVC), 1920x1080
- Rate/Length: 23,976fps, 24 frames
- Bitrate: 2.700 Kbs
- [16:05:56] Reencoding: VID_00000, Pass 1 of 2
- Encode failed. Aborting.
- BD-Rebuilder v0.50.18
- Windows Version: 6.2 [9200]
- Working Path Free Space: 815,80GB
- AVISYNTH Version: 2.6.0.6, Ok
- LAVFILTERS: Ok
- X264: Ok
- AFTEN: Ok
- FAAC: Ok
- MP4BOX: Ok
- WAVI: Ok
- TSMUXER: Ok
- FRIMEncode: Ok
- FRIMDecode: Ok
[16:05:58] - Failed video encode, aborted

May you please help me finding that problem...? Seems everything is ok ?!

Thank you verry much in advance.

Hey,

i did some further research. Last executed command was

"C:\Users\faithless\Desktop\BD_Rebuilder\tools\x264.exe" "D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS" --preset medium --bluray-compat --b-pyramid none --weightp 1 --qpmin=0 --bitrate 2700 --level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --aud --nal-hrd vbr --pic-struct --vbv-bufsize 13000 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 1 --ipratio 1.1 --pbratio 1.1 --vbv-maxrate 15000 --threads auto --slices 4 --thread-input --stats "D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS.264.stats" --pass 1 --output NUL

If i try this by Hand i got an error in CMD:
avs [error]: DGSource: Cannot open index file!
(D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS, line 3)
x264 [error]: could not open input file `D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.AVS'

Then i opened VID_00000.AVS with Notepad++ and examined 3rd line, wich is:
DGSource("D:\WORKING\WORKFILES\VID_00000.DGI", fieldop=0)

And the DGI File is missing in Workfiles Directory.

Does anyone has any suggestions on how to fix?

#1 comment: I need to see the entire log -- not just the parts you decide to post. I wanted to see the audio/video extraction part, but it was missing. If you are going to post the AVS, which is a good thing, I also need to see ALL of it, not just the part you want me to see.

With that said, just guessing... it looks like it thinks FRIMDecode is selected when it is doing the extraction and therefore DGIndex isn't being executed (the reason why there is no DGI file). Frankly, I don't know how that is possible... but without seeing your INI file (in its entirety) I'm just guessing.

Right now it's hard for me to test DGIndexNV/DGDecNV because my card is no longer supported in the newer versions (since Windows 10). That's not Donald Graft's fault -- it falls back on Nvidia. I could fix it with a new card -- but frankly I'm satisfied with my current one and don't want to waste the money for a new one.

Was this your first attempt at encoding with the new setup? Have you done this movie successfully before (like with your old setup)? Have any other movies been successful since getting the new rig setup?

After building a new PC, I know I missed some of the Video/Audio Decoder Configurations for FFDshow.. and that caused me a similar issue.

But a side question... with a volume label of... INDEPENDENCE.DAY.2.WIEDERKEHR.2016.MULTI.COMPLETE.BLURAY I've never seen one like that. Is that the original bluray? or was it downloaded from someplace? i.e. Could there be a faulty rip?

That's an illegal rip. That's a scene release. Retail discs don't use volume names like that
