News Forum - replying to posts

Someone called Guest added a sticky to the News forum to explain you can't reply to posts there, so while I'm aware you can't, my question is, why not?

Is there a logical reason why replying was disabled, as not being able to discuss video "news" in a discussion forum seems kind of odd to me.

And I have been made aware of the following: -

The news policy was not put in place by Guest, but rather Doom9. The 'sticky' was created by Guest to simply clarify the policy!

Sorry, I forgot to use the <sarcasm> tag. ;)

Although would sarcasm be the right tag to use there? Maybe not. An irony tag probably wouldn't be appropriate either. Maybe just a <humour> tag. I'll have to look it up.... :)

...I think that's because the "News" section is intended specifically for posting news, not for discussion. You can discuss stuff anywhere else ;)

(Also new posts in the "News" section need to be approved before they will be visible to everyone)
