View Full Version : Help remuxing 3D subtitles with correct depth

Hi guys,

I've got the following problem: I always reencode some original BluRay3D's to BD25 using BDRebuilder. This way the depth of 3D subtitles is lost, because FRIMEncode does not keep 3D planes inside the mvc stream intact.

Using the tools from BD3D2MK3D I was able to extract the planes of the original mvc files and convert them to ofs. I thought like this I could remux the BDRebuilder output using Scenarist and the ofs files, but there is no option to use ofs files in scenarist if there are no 3D planes in the mvc file.

So, therefore I am searching for a way to convert subtitles to a stereoscopic pgs file (pgs file containing mvc information for dependent view like on some orignal discs) and mux these into the BD-Rebuilder output with Scenarist or TSMuxer.

Is there any way to achieve what I want??

Thanks so much for your help! If I explained something poorly please ask and I'll try to explain better :)

Is there really no one who could tell me how to create stereoscopic subtitles??

No available authoring program supports 2P stereo mode for subtitles (neither Blu-print nor Scenarist)

Thanks, so how are the movie studios creating them?? I saw some movies that had stereo subtitles on it...

If anyone has another solution how I can add depth to subtitles on FRIM-encoded movies I'd appreciate it a lot!

They use tools not public available (Panasonic’s Blu-ray Authoring technology)

Okay thanks, I understand that.
So, is there a way to add subtitle depth to movies, which I reencoded with FRIM??

BDtoAVCHD (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154957) and MVCenc (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=170315) can re-encode MVC video retaining original 3D subtitles depth.

Thanks, I'm going to try that out :)

Okay so subtitle depth is indeed correct with BDtoAVCHD. However with this tool I lose all my menus and that's definitley not what I want.
Remuxing the encoded files with Scenarist is not possible, because like FRIM the Offsets in MVC stream are not correct and I can't generate MUI files.

So, is there any way to keep 3D subtitle depth while also keeping menus intact??

Hi,

"but there is no option to use ofs files in scenarist if there are no 3D planes in the mvc file": So create them with TSmuxer and then import ofs in scenarist.

Thanks, but you can't create planes in TSmuxer if there are none present in the mvc file (due to FRIMEncoder)...

Hi,

The options "insert SEI and VUI data if absent" and "continually insert SPS/PPS" are not working ?

Maybe a work-around is to mux the file in M2TS format and then demux it with TSmuxer and use the 2 options above. I remember I already do it to fix the same problem you have (but the mvc file was not encoded with FRIM) (It will not take you long to check it this is working)

No, this doesn't work like that. It only works with MVC encoded in professional encoders, because the planes need to be set in mvc during encoding. Which program was your MVC encoded with??

Well yes, I don not encode with FRIM, I only decode with it.
Encoding part is with from Sonic.

You mean TotalCode Professional?? Yes it should work with that program, but not with FRIM unfortunately. Thanks anyway for trying to help me!! If anyone else has some idea that would be great!
