View Full Version : AC3 sync problems when using SPDIF - fine in PCM

I have a problem flik that I am trying to play in PowerDivx. I will say at this point that all other files play fine both in PCM (directsound) mode and SP-DIF mode.

The file in question plays fine when using the directsound filter, but when I switch to me external amp via SPDIF it gets about 200ms out (video ahead of audio).

I've tried setting different interleave settings in Nandub and re-saving, but the problems still exist. I even tried chopping the 1st part of the file off, still no joy.

I CAN manually set the soundtrack to be -220ms+original offset, but then it doesn't play correctly in PCM mode!

Any pointers or tips? Should I use something OTHER than nandub?

What version of PD are you using? Have you tried using Zoom Player or BSPlayer?

OK, PowerDivx 3.12.

ZoomPlayer - same problem.

Should I try re-ripping the audio?

I doubt re-ripping the audio will fix it. You did use DVD2AVI to rip the AC3 right?

Try playing with NanDubs interleave settings. If your using a SoundBlaster then the defaults may not work for you. Try-

64/64ms
96/96ms

Some people here also use 2,3,4,5 or even 10 frames. You have the latest SoundBlaster drivers? What OS are you using? Which filters are installed? Did you try BSPlayer yet? How did you encode your video? You have to provide these details if you want help:)

Great news - it's fixed now.

I installed WINDVD 3.1 and now the SPDIF is completely in sync... very odd. Like I said, all my other ac3 divx played ok anyway!

Sounds great!

Thanks for the help..
