I have used dvd2svcd to make my file for me but the .cue and .bin files that I have now got are too big for my CD !! I have 74 minute CD's and I do not mind how many I use. I have two .bin files one which is 825,674 KB and the other is 824,165 KB. I have two .cue files which are both 2kb. I do not think that they fit onto a 74 minute cd !! What I would like to know is... At which point of my burning should I resume the program (using crash recovery). And which parameters do I need to change so that the files will fit onto my 74 minute cd's.

Also i have asked in the past how do i burn the images onto the cd using Nero, and I got this answer >>>

"Here's how you burn bin/cue files with Nero.

1. Launch Nero.
2. Don't use the Wizard (i.e. Close the Wizard)
3. Select "File->Burn Image"
4. Change to All files under File Types and open the .cue file.
5. Select "Disc-At-Once", otherwise Nero will burn the bin image incorrectly.
6. Select write speed and hit "Write". "

But i do not understand what number 5 means I cannot find anything to do with Disc At Once.

Thanks in advance guys...
PS I have read all the other posts for help on this matter and I could not find anything.

Open dvd2svcd, then go to the bitrate tab change all the windows
that are named "cd size' to 740. As default some are set to 800
which would be good if you had 80minute disks but not so good if you dont. Then after all the boxes named "cd size" has been changed to 740, go ahead load crash recovery then select mux/cut as your starting point, that should now make all images for 74minute cd's.

Regarding part 2 of your question: Nero's "Burn" tab has the "Disc at Once" (DAO) checkbox right under the speed menu ...
Also, if you want to overburn, be sure to activate the overburning support in the expert settings.

I have tried changing all of the cd size boxes in dvd2svcd and thn continued the crash recovery from muxing and cutting and continued. The problem is though that when I continue it launches bbmpeg and then an error message saying "an audio stream filename must be specified, running settings."

What do i do from here, have i deleted the wrong file >??
will i not be able to reduce the size of by .bin files now to fit onto a cd.

PS i have now got 2 80 minute cd's but the files which the program originally created were still too big for them too !!

All i want to do is finalize the process by putting th images on the cd and this is the bit that will just not work for me !!

cheers for the help so far !!!

You should be good by selecting the .cue files to burn. My .vin files are also bigger than 800mb, but everything works out great when burning to a 80 min cd. Just make sure like the other guy says, enable "overburning" and choose "burn image" fom the file menu.

I have tried using the over burning process but it still is not working. I am not sure though where you choose to enable overburning it asks for the max cd length, what should i put in that part for a fie of size 816mb what do you think ?

I have it enabled in "file", "preferences", "expert setup". I then just go to "file" and select "burn image". I then select my .cue file and go thru the tabs for labels and write speed and such. And then just write the cd. I never have to fill out cd length. What version Nero are you running? I have 5.5.7.2

I too am having a similar problem. I get through DVD2SVCD fine. I have extracted the mpg from the bin file and verified that it is okay. I then go to burn with NERO and/or CDRWIN and it burns successfully but the resulting CD is unreadable by any drive I have. I am using overburning and DAO. I have been able to successfully burn downloaded bin images in the past and have not had any problems playing them. I have a Mitsumi CR4804-TE with 2.4C firmware. I have even tried using 740 MB on the bitrate page and still using 80 min cds and that has not helped either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Coaster Anyone? :(

@bitpusher
do you open bin or cue files?

Nero did not support .cue files before version 5.5.6.x so you could only open the .bin.

Now, if you have an older version, then select the .bin (all files, *.*) and set Raw Mode = On. That gives sector size = 2352 bytes. Without that you'll get an unreadable disk, since vcdxbuild creates cd images with that sector size.

not to be a bore, but it seems easier to me to upgrade to 5572 and open the cue file.

Hello Bitpusher,

I have the exact same burner (4804TE but FW 3.0!) and also had some problems using Nero (5.5.7.2). Sometimes burning the images didn't work in DAO mode - i don't know why - then I switched to burning them with TAO mode and the play perfect - strange. ;)

You could try that (use a CD-RW) or as I did, use the "Daemon-Tools" and mount the images as a virtual SVCD with them (is cool  and works perfect) then just do a disc-to-disc copy with the burning prog of your choice (I use CloneCD) - works perfect! You can even test your SVCDs if all went fine before burning a single CD-R.

Try it,
Gerti

gerti67,

I tried the TAO option first and got a buffer underrun. :(

Not sure why but then I tried the DAEMON-Tools. It worked great. Very useful too.

Thank you sooooo much...
