[edited to remove unnecessary bollocks]
so when i set mode=0 and limit=255, i get speccles instead of smoothly destroyed motion.
tried on YUV422P10, P16, and YUV420P8. the speckles change but don't go away.

DegrainMedian for Avisynth produces the same thing, so maybe that's how it's supposed to look.
