Hey guys,

Technical question. Does the m4v container have higher network requirements than other containers?

I am able to play large high bitrate rips over my wireless network, however I am not able to play the m4v in my collection without being connected via ethernet.

Whether it is to Infuse on my ipad, or Kodi on my Shield TV, these files will load (slowly) and almost immediately begin to lose sync until they buffer. Both play the files natively.

On a whim I remuxed them to mkv using mkvtoolnix, and discovered they play perfectly. No codec issues.

Here is the header of the m4v,

Size: 683.5 MB
Format: QuickTime/MPEG-4/Motion JPEG 2000 format
Stream count: 3
Duration: 00:21:29
Bit rate: 4447 kb/s

and the remuxed mkv,

Size: 682.6 MB
Format: Matroska/WebM file format
Stream count: 3
Duration: 00:21:29
Bit rate: 4441 kb/s

I've also taken some screenshots of the kodi stats during playback, and the network usage when accessing these files (and only these files).

Curious as to the technical reason for this.

Thankyou!
