Where can I find the implementation details of Spline16 and Spline36?

In case someone has the time to recode them as HLSL shaders.

I might give a try of processing planar data and doing YV12-YV24 conversion via shaders, but then HLSL Spline36 would need to be implemented. I found Bicubic to soften the chroma too much.

I found this page most helpful:

http://www.panotools.org/dersch/interpolator/interpolator.html

At the bottom is a description of the maths and includes spline16 and spline36.

However I think the implementation in AviSynth may be different, and may operate over a variable number of pixels (depending on how much of a resize is happening).

There's also this: on the theory of the Spline16/36/64 resizers (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=147117)
