Sorry if this gets asked quite often, but I can't see any reference to this anywhere. As the title says, is it possible to remove the time limit on a DivX file when you rent a film?

There are two DivX's. One is a codec. One is a DVD-like rental system created by Circuit City.
I presume you are referring to the latter. In which case, no. DivX wasn't out long enough to be cracked by the public. It doesn't even have a decrypter, so you can probably forget about a time limit remover.
And since DivX has been discontinued, I doubt it'll ever come into existence.

There's a 3rd divx.
A commercial-grade divx4 codec with date-stamping. Used with the special DivXPlayer from www.divx.com, and commercial "rental" downloads. Links are available to these sites at www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com) in their "Showcase" section.
