Hi, after recording the DVD-R in my Pioneer A03 I can see on the red surface of the Apple-DVD small black dots.
The thing is:
If I use DVD-Decryptor and let it read my burned DVD-R back to Harddisk, the program told me that there are no read-errors....
If I use the Explorer and copy the data to my Harddisk, there are no read-errors, too.

What do you think, is this probably normal or what ?

The dots are normally caused by specs of dust on the disc when it's being burned

ok, but the files can normally copied with no errors.
is this a special feature of the burner ?
I think it curios that during the stream is a black dot in it (which normally means that there is no data), but I can copy the file to HD without an error ?!?
what are the dots now: alike or something to worry about ?

DVD's use UDF mode which as far as I know contains CRC error correction unlike Audio and VCD/SVCD does. So if you have these holes on a vcd/svcd, you can be sure to see mpeg errors when playing it back.

Clean the disc before burn, always have latest firmware and for best and long lasting results, use 1x speed burning.

Finally! Someone has mentioned what I have been mentioning on these forums for quite a while now. i had the same problem originally. The recordablemedia.com dvdr's seem to have some remnants of the plastic when they were cut at the factory. once you clean BEFORE burning, they seem to be ok.
