Been a while since my last post, but I'm hoping that someone out there can help me out with a problem...
I live in the U.S. and record HDTV on a PC using OTA reception. I had some recordings that landed onto the hard drive of my PC from an HD Homerun dual tuner. When I played the recordings from my PC's hard drive, they played fine. (They are .tp files, by the way.)
Whenever I start running out of room on my PC's hard drive, I move older recorded .tp files from the hard drive onto an external hard drive using Teracopy. I always do "move files" then verify that the CRCs match after the move. This has always proven reliable.
However, on my latest file transfer session today, Teracopy appeared to work normally (no CRC errors), but after moving the files to the external drive, they no longer can be played (VLC, VideoRedo, and ProjectX all fail to read the files).
Can unreadable (corrupted?) .tp files be made readable again? Are there any other tools out there I can try? Thanks for reading, and for any insight anyone out there may have. :thanks:
