Hi,
Here is another problem.
I have a 2 CD's DIVX SBC.
I was wondering if I could make it a 1 CD DIVX SBC using once again gordian knot ...
thx for the help !

ooh, not sure if Gordian Knot can do that or not. If you can fin something that can make a d2V file out of an avi, then yes. Otherwise, I'd say you'd have to take it head-on with Nandub. (Although it's not too hard if you follow the guides, however I find the size prediction nowhere near as good as Gordian Knot's)

Hi,

Best bet is to re-encode from original DVD.

Using lossy compression on a file that has already been compressed is asking for a really crappy result...

For example, encode a song to mp3 from a cd. Then convert that mp3 you made to wav, then re-encode to mp3.

The result? Shit.

The problem, is that it is not my rip, so I don't have the DVD, that's why I was willing to reencode it ...
Maybe by simply resizing and reencoding the soundtrack that might fit ...
thx anyhow for the help

you can load nandub stats files from the first pass into GordianKnot, analyze the results, calculate the settings, save a new stats file and save an ecf file. Then go to nandub again, load the stats and the ecf and do the second pass.
It's easier than manually setting up nandub and the filesize predictability is perfect.
