View Full Version : Burning to VCD adds 100MB+ of zeros

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I've been creating VCD compliant movies using DVD2AVI and TMPEGEnc. Everything has been going fine, movies look great, etc. until I go to burn the movie to VCD. I've been using VCDEasy, and I get a warning in the logging section to the effect that the frames are misaligned and zeros are being added. The problem is that it adds a good 100MB+ of zeros making it impossible to fit more than about 60-65 mins of VCD compliant video on a CD. I've tried demuxing and remuxing in TMPEG's excellent MPEG tools, and it hasn't changed anything. Also, I tried using Nero once and had similar results. I really think it must have something to do with the encoding process. I've been following the Doom9 guides to the letter, except that I've been using DVD2AVI to split off the audio, instead of using a tool like VOB2Audio.

I've been reading through the forums and I haven't read anyone else complaining of this problem, but I can't believe I'm the only one who is getting it. I have a AMD-K6 CPU (500mhz), unfortunately, which has given me problems with some software (such as VOB2Audio), if that rings any bells with anyone.

I hope this is enough information for someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong. I sure appreciate all the great information you folks bring to the forums. Thanks for everything!
