Hello guys,

Im wondering if theres a way to increase "main movie" file size when doing a full backup BD25 reencode. And therefore, decrease "extras" file size.

For example: I recently reencoded a Movie (full backup) two times, Keeping Atmos track, using highest settings and "quicker encode for extras", first using BD-Rebuilder and then using another software.

The final results were:

with BD-Rebuilder:
9.4GB main movie file size
Final BD25 output: 22.1GB

with another software:
16GB main movie file size
Final BD25 output: 22.7GB

My settings:

Why dont use the other software then? Well, I love BD-Rebuilder.

That's easy:
- Select "Quicker" Encode for Extras (as you have already done)
- In the bdrebuilder.ini, put:
QUICK_CRF=30
(or a value of your choice, which is higher than the default value which is 20, for a BD25. See HIDDENOPTS.TXT).
The quality of the Extras will suffer accordingly, though.

What's the other program you used for comparison?

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. The other program was DVDFab.

Anyway, thanks to Sharc advice, I succesfully increased my main movie file size - I did increase the custom output to 24200MB too.

Hi, (im new here btw) I tried the same options but i only get a 16GB Files.

The original Files are 24.17GB and its 887MB more than the Bluray Disc. It's only Main Movie (21 GB), the extra (2.56GB) and the things for the menus (592MB).

What do you recomend to me to only decrease the Extra (maybe 1gb) and hold the file size of the Main movie?

Set QUICK_CRF to a lower value, say 25.
Post your .log

after post this, i'll try again with QUICK_CRF=25

btw, it would be nice if the software gives you an option to resize only one part, but a GUI option, like a menu or check

By .log I actually meant the BD-REBUILDER.LOG which you find in the workfolder.
Did the main movie get re-encoded, or was it copied intact?

1. If it's a torrent download, than that's probably your problem.
2. Support for illegally obtained software is forbidden here.
3. You've violated rule 6... thread closed.
