View Full Version : Blurring image when making a custom Blu

Hi, mates! I've tried to make myself a custom Blu out of "Brides of Dracula", Final Cut Ent. edition. However, when I try to watch the final work, the image is somewhat blurring. I've only tried on my PC, I didn't even burn it into a disc, but I think I might give it a try and see if I can watch it properly on my TV. Maybe it's just an issue on my PC...
Anyway, do you really think it's a codecs problem? I use TSMuxer to demux and then again to remux everything along with the Spanish audio track. Any idea to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Simple demuxing and remuxing does not change the video quality. The video stream is the same.
You would have to re-encode the video in order to change it's quality (sharpness). Then the quality depends on the encoder and your settings.

I do NOT want to re-encode the video stream. I just want to make a custom Blu with the Spanish language track, and then burn it into a disc. On the other hand, I've made quite a lot of custom Blus and this is one of the few movies that I have come across with this issue. And I really don't know how to handle the problem. I tend to think that it's an "anti-piracy" problem regarding some labels? Kino Lorber blus, for instance, are really hard to customize, and so appears to be this label (Final Cut Ent.).
I'll post some pics if needed to show the problem.

Are you sure you demuxed the right video stream? Check the file size and the resolution.
480p is definitely wrong.

I'm not pretty but completely sure. I know what I do. What I don't know is what the problem is, since I have come across with some other Blus with the same issue. I just don't know how to solve it!

480p is the resolution I gave that bit of movie that I transcoded, using HandBrake.

Good luck then.

I just pointed out to the fact that I know how to select the main movie stream on TSMuxer, since I've been using this program for a long time. I do apologize if I didn't make myself clear, mate.

You cannot expect a sharp picture from a 480p transcode. What shall people guess from an inferior 480p sample??
The Blu-ray resolution is 1920x1080.

At the real 1080p resolution those lines are on the image. That's why I posted and explained my problem here on the forum. I just transcoded the beginning of the movie giving it a lower resolution so that you could have a look and try to help.
Edit: Can someone notice those "flashes" on the image? That's what I'm trying to explain. Those flashes are not part of the original image on the Blu. They appear when I remux the movie (TSMuxer), choosing 00000 from the playlist, which points at the main movie stream.

YouTube has blocked your clip from viewing for copyright reasons.

That's because you posted it. NBC Universal filed a copyright claim against it, so YT blocks to all users except the original poster. You now have the opportunity to file a counter-claim if you believe their copyright claim is in error (which it obviously isn't), that's why it's still there and you can see it. If you log out of YouTube, you won't be able to watch it either.
They copyright blocking is an automated process, so it can make mistakes. They give people a chance to prove they have the right to post something on the chance that they really do have the right.
You might try posting it again without audio (assuming it's just video you want us to see), I think the copyright algorithms work off the audio stream (sort of like how Shazam can figure out songs on the radio for you), so that might prevent it from being flagged automatically...
