First of all, thanks to all those posting here, doom9 has been a great resource for my video projects. I don't know much about video itself or avisynth, but results using QTGMC have been great.

Now with this project I need something else, but I'm having a hard time to even describe the problem, so no way to search for a solution.

Mabye "Punch out beam like shadows from brighter objects" ?
(not an english native here)

Anyway here's a picture and a closeup and three links to a ut_video with a short sequence.

Any help and script ideas appreciated, thanks

i can't DL your video but based on the picture i'd say they are dark halos (but oriented horizontally so it's strange).
Whatever they are good luck to remove that

Those look like the halos around bright objects that were common in 1st-generation consumer cameras that were based on Vidicon and Saticon tubes. Take a look at this video:

Vidicon Nighttime Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhjPWmJoCBA)

Look at the bright lights, and then look to their right and you'll see what appears to be the same exact feature as in your video.

(I suggest you turn the volume all the way down because the soundtrack may cause brain damage.)

As already pointed out, it is a type of halo, but I have yet to see any software that handles this sort of thing. I've had similar problems with Kinescope videos, but no one has been able to help. It's a tough problem to solve.

ok, thanks so not much hope.
These are profressional recordings, but early 80s.
Here's antoher example of a tv->vhs recording that shows the same problem, will gladly provide a video sample if someone wants to bite.

I see this with VHS in general, at least in very dark scenes when the black level is set too high. Here is a retail tape from the early 2000s.
