Hi ...

I have trouble getting this screen display full RGB 4: 4: 4

System:
AMD R9 270 @ 3840x2160 / 60Hz
Club3D DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 UHD

Panasonic CX700:
4K Pure Direct = On
HDMI RGB Range = Full

madVR = PC levels (0-255)

AMD
I no longer have the option to choose full RGB 4: 4: 4

The result of these settings:

ChromaRes_madVR_Result (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/111324524/Images%20for%20Sharing/IMG_0235.jpg)
ChromaRes_IrfanView_Result (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/111324524/Images%20for%20Sharing/IMG_0236.jpg)

Someone who has an idea of what can be wrong?

huhn could tell that:
go to picture -> options settings and use 1080p Pixel by 4 pixels it's the closes you can get at 1080p. pure direct mode should result in a better all over picture. but chroma test picture doesn't really work.
the general scaler in this TV is bad.

UHD 4:4:4 works flawlessly with 4K pure direct mode.

23p doesn't really work on this TV so don't bother. is smooth motion or judder.

feel free to make a new thread I know a lot about this screen.

the issue could be the adapter. you don't have full control over it and your TV setting are correct.

try properties and set the bit deep to 8bit. unlike DP 1.2 HDMI 2.0 can't do RGB 10 bit UHD@60 hz.

but the active displayport adapter is still a black box.

even with limited range RGB signal my 0-16 are black so something not sure which program is clipping there.

for YCbCr422 or 420 there is no option for pure direct mode.

so if it is there you have either RGB or YCbCr444.

but the adapter could do a lot of conversation. judging your screen your TV is getting at least 4.4:4

Club3D claims that it can send RGB 4:4:4 at 3840x2160 / 60Hz / 8bit. Also think I have seen proof that this is correct. Could it be my cable, I'm not sure if it is version 1.4 or 2.0

madVR is set to 8bit.

set the madVR driver to 8 bit!

there is no new cable. there are only high speed or standard speed cables.

it either works or you can't choice 60 HZ.

I did not know. Thought there was a difference when they identify them respectively 1.4 and 2.0. The information saved me some money, thanks :)

Okay ... Sharpness on Panasonic has a great influence on 4:4:4 I have lowered Sharpness to 13 and achieve a satisfactory result.

Look here

Here's a slightly updated pattern: http://abload.de/img/chromaresmzjib.png

And here are examples of what it should look like:

4:4:4 display (http://abload.de/img/444-examplewpjy0.png) - the "4:4:4" text is darker than the background, and "4:2:2" should barely be visible.
4:2:2 display (http://abload.de/img/422-examplenlkf0.png) - the "4:2:2" text should be brighter than the background, and the "4:4:4" text should almost blend into the background. There should be a bright border around the edge of the image.
4:2:0 display (http://abload.de/img/420-examplejxji9.png) - none of the text is clearly visible (it may be faintly visible) and the center of the image should be dark, with a bright border around the edge of the screen.

This is what I get

4:4:4 display - the "4:4:4" text is darker than the background, and "4:2:2" should barely be visible.

Thank you for your everlasting desire to help :thanks:

sharpness 0 is neutral.

at 6 or 7 the line thinning stops.

and ignore the numbers look at the pixels.

I can't select anything there when sending 3840X2160 / 60Hz. It's Greyed out at 8bit

You're right. It does this by 7. Something I notice with 4:2:2 is that 4 starts with 1px horizontal red, further down 1px horizontal blue and again 1px horizontal blue, then 1px horizontal red. The same applies to 2. ":" shows 1px red at the top and the bottom of each "dot"

Hope you understands what I mean :)

Is this normal?

AFAIK only HDMI 2.0 a can handle RGB 4-4-4.
This specific feature makes the difference between HDMI 2.0 and 2.0 a

HDMI 2.0a only added HDR signaling support. (which is not used by madVR at the moment)
