I had to recode a big MKV and loaded it in Vdub with FFmpeg plugin
SAR was 720x552
DAR 1024x552(1.85)
PAR 64/45

I cropped and resized height to 400, i wanted to save at 720x400 with a new PAR,
BUT, FFmpeg displayed a 1024x552 frame, I realized after,

Once Started, decompression speed was 65fps, the decoder was resizing 720 to 1024 and saving 1024x400

That wasnt what i wanted,
So tried with FFhandler mkv plugin, and it displayed the SAR frames, 720x552, OK
i started to save at 720x400,
BUT, the speed was only 30fps, 1:40 hour to just decompress a movie
smaller size, no enlarging, less the half the speed,
would be a difference of more than 3 times with same resolution

If the movie had not a PAR, i could use FFmpeg and decompress in ~30 minutes

Then, anyone for a faster mkv plugin,
or, someway, to made that FFmped dispays another AR:?? :D

In VirtualDub's file open dialog select "Ask for extended options after this dialog" to see ffmpeg input plugin options. Uncheck the one at the very top to stop it from resizing.
