I have two questions:

Can I use just one ac3 stream and have it be compatible on all standalones. That is, do I have to put the 2 channel and 6 channel streams on the DVD for it to sound right on a player that only has two channel output?

What program can I use to author a DVD with ac3? MyDVD doesn't seem to support it, neither does ULead. I tried to use SpruceUp but it doesn't support 16:9 ratio! Plus, I don't even know how to import mv2 and two streams of ac3 into spruceup anyway without remuxing the file with something else. What's up with that? I have just started burning this past week and have been reading for months so I hope I'm not just missing something.

Pinnacle Impression DVD Pro

Spruce Vitruoso

You can use any .AC3 stream from 2channels only to 5.1
The more channels the better it will sound.
