Changing CD-switch point MANUALLY?

With DVD2SVCD I would like to specifically tell it when to stop encoding at a specific time and then switch CDs, and changing the bitrates so both would fit on an 80min CD.

I have done a test run with it once so far, and it seems to basically take the halfpoint of the overall movie and decide to have it switch CDs there. Unfortunately this sometimes occurs in the middle of conversations. Regardless of the 2-second rerun of the last moments of CD1 onto CD2, it doesn't really help. I might be missing some feature to change all this, any help? Thanks.

this is not possible (yet ;)) with dvd2svcd. But here is a thread that might help you as a starting point as this was discussed here before:

Have a look at it and try to "search" the forum for more info by using the words "chapter AND split" with it as it will lead to another method to achieve this (but not the way you want perhaps). ;)

but be carefull, sometimes the DVD producers seem to create chapters without taking care of such profane things like conversations. ;)

So watch your prefered chapter (where you want to split) with a software player or so before.
