Thought i'd put this here for more feedback,
http://grail.cs.washington.edu/projects/gradientshop/
If anybody can think this would work either as pixelshaders or directshow filters, please post here.

You can wrap their code as a directshow filter, there may be a CPU/BUS overhead due to a few memory copies, but other than that performance should be similar.

Hi Blight,
I'm not a developer, are you interested in taking a look at the gradientshop code? I had talked to a developer in the past about the project, he had said it could help improve my videos quality with the scripts already developed at the time, a deblock script and a saliency sharpen script. The video i had was quite badly compressed and blocky. I couldn't get the saliency sharpen script to work. Maybe you could take a look and see if videos could improved by any of the above, and if so could be implemented as directshow filters?

Milardo,
You are talking about 100+ hours of work, it's not something someone could just look at.
If would probably take a fraction of that time if the original developers would do it themselves.
