been a few years since i used avisynth. a friend gave me some footage at 720x486 of telecined film. file is a quicktime in dv codec. it is interlaced and runs at 29.97. i'd like to deinterlace it, remove the pulldown and up-res it. i'd like the result to be 1440x1080p at 23.976. does anyone have a script i can start with as a test?

thanks,
BabaG

If the footage is truly telecined then there's no need to deinterelace it but you do have to perform inverse telecince (IVTC). Take a look at TIVTC (http://avisynth.nl/index.php/TIVTC) and for upscaling use nnedi3_rpow2 (http://avisynth.nl/index.php/Nnedi3). Script will look something like this:

SourceFilter("whatever.avi")
TFM()
TDecimate()
nnedi3_rpow2(rfactor=3, cshift="Spline36Resize", fwidth=1440, fheight=1080)

Just a sample, tweak settings accordingly.

For upscaling, take a look at Shiandow's SuperRes
