MPC Misc Options not working

I'm using MPC to view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0Nt73xMR2U and it is pretty dark so I tried to lighten it up a bit.

Couldn't. Seems none of the miscellaneous options are working - not brightness, nor contrast, nor hue, etc., nothing.

I reset things using that button on that page but no different.

Any clues?

What renderer are you using? As this option says "..available for VMR9, EVR and madVR" i am guessing you are not using one of these. Using HW Acc or not may also affect this option.
For situations like yours i use "Gamma Panel" (http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/gamma_panel.html). Has the advantage to work global, even in windowed games. If this sill does not work you have to use your native video controls of you graphics card or your monitors gamma/luma settings.

I don't know. How do I find out? Whatever I doubt that's the problem because it used to work alright. I quoted the video I was trying to watch lest that could be part of the problem. No?

I'll get this gamma panel thing and see how I go. thanks for the tip.
