I have ripped DVDs and converted them to Divx with no problems (following online "How To" web pages), but I cant figure out how to just convert my video captured videos to DivX (I know this is probably simple, but I have searched for a week now for an online guide, but can't find one).

I have a Dazzle II capture card that saves video to MPEGs. I think what is confusing me is that when I rip a CD there are separate files for sound an video, whereas my capture card outputs one file, the mpg file, with the sound included. I tried converting with FlasKMPEG. I know how to set the bitrate settings, but can't seem to get the sound settings right.

Is there anyone out there that also has a Dazzle card and converts to DivX? Or can someone refer me to a "how to" link?

Thanks!

when capturing your software is muxing audio and video while encoding..(like virtual dub does,i guess). when ripping, video and audio is encoded seperately and has to be muxed afterwards. if you experience problems with flask and sound, try another method (gordianknot or mpeg2avi) because flask is famous for audio issues (although i can't varify that because i never used flask..) btw. i guess your caprure card has nothing to do with dvd-ripping because you use a dvd-rom and smartripper (dvddecrypter..)to get the files on your hdd, don't you ;-)

I am thinking about bying the Dazzle DVC II (www.dazzle.com) to convert old family videos into DivX 5. Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback about this? I would really appreciate it.
