I am thinking about getting a Dolby Ātmos pre/pro will the new audio formats be included with the BD25 backup's?

pretty sure that's already handled by BDRB, and if they aren't just "keep hd audio" and the audio will be copied as is, keeping atmos intact.

I just wasn't sure but "untouched" does suggest it would still be there.

untouched is exactly that, untouched. It doesn't touch the audio and just does a 1:1 stream copy which then gets remuxed back into the video. I've done it plenty of times already. Works just fine.

Atmos is an extension and not a part of the BD standard. Therefore, if you reencode it will be gone. But, as Ch3vr0n suggested, if you select to keep the original intact, it should still be a part of the audio stream. In that case the audio stream is just demuxed from the original stream and remuxed into the new one (after the video reencode).

Just a followup question here jdobbs. Are there plans to support it within BDRB, doesn eac3to technicaly support it?

I can't comment on whether eac3to supports it, as I don't use it. "Support" is already in BD-RB, since it allows for reintegrating unchanged audio. But, unless there is an open source encoder created for it, I don't see how BD-RB or any other freeware package could include a reencoding option. But, as it isn't a part of he BD standard, it would be a very low priority anyway.

anyone know how to do a movie only backup of Insurgent? The movie only backup comes out as the directors cut and not the actual movie.

If you're using AnyDVD look at the text file "Disc.inf" in the root folder of the disc -- it may give you some choices (in case there are many).

I don't believe the Insurgent BD includes a director's cut of the film - you must be seeing a particularly long extra or a phony playlist entry.
Assuming you are looking at your personally owned retail USA version, according to some notes I read elsewhere, playlist 421 is probably what you want to rip just your movie. But check it carefully to make sure you've got the right playlist for your disc as there are multiple versions out in the wild.

Poor choice of words. It was the audio commentary this was likely what I needed by default it came up as 00708. There must be 50 or more to choose from.
Thanks

Yes. This is a favorite (and useless) game played by Lionsgate . . .

I don't think this is the correct playlist. This is the version with the Atmos audio track from Amazon. The full backup plays fine from the computer but to play it from my Oppo I need a movie only version or the disc.
I did a search at anydvd and it is 407 just watched the backup worked perfect.
