Hi all,
a quick one...
Lets say that I have all the assets ready, AV encoded, all required subtitles etc.
If I've been given the JAR files, then what?
What do I have to do to import JAR files in Scenarist?
And then what? Are JAR & other assets automatically linked?
If I am not mistaken all the commands and links are in the Jar?
Thanks and sorry if it sounds silly.

If the .JAR came with a .BDJO, you should be able to just create a Java title in the Scenario editor and link it to the BDJO.
If you just have a .JAR file, then you have to create a BDJO, the attached doc should explain that (hopefully)... (It may not appear until after it gets approved by someone, not sure... But it's Sonic's 'Create a BDJO with Scenarist' Knowledge base article.)
Been a long time since I've done this, so can't remember all the details.
If you just have a .JAR (no other files), you should be fine. If there's other directories of files (like graphics) that the .JAR needs, you will have to manually add those folders to the disc directory structure.
If you have no HDMV programming to get through (start up trailers, logos, etc), than just have the first play command launch the Java title. Otherwise you can have it play some startup things, and then jump to the Java title.
Also, I assume whoever made the JAR file had some info from you (or gave you info) about where the video assets are? The .JAR file will have the code that starts playing 'PlayList 00001' when the user hits 'Play Movie' (for example), whatever PlayLists they've programmed to launch when buttons are pressed are where you have to put the video items... (Sometimes there's an external text file with this information that you can edit, depends on how the JAR was made.)

Basically, I will have the JAR files and any graphics that might come with.
So, JAR is the container of the Java code, what is the BDJO?
The container of that JAR inside Scenarist?
Thanks for the pdf but hasn't been approved yet.

BDJO is a file on the disc that tells the disc (or blu-ray player) what JAR files are present and how the disc should access them... It's basically what connects the JAR to the rest of the disc. (Blu-ray Disc Java Object)
You also need to be able to sign the JAR files and include the signing certificates (Or hopefully they come that way from whoever is providing them...) They may even provide you with the BDJO files, depending on what they are using to program the JARs...
