View Full Version : "Random question" anomalies

Hi, just thought I'd post this to let the admins know that at least three of the random questions that are asked before you can create a new post (I assume just for new users?) are problematic:

It asks to name one of the moderators of the DVD2AVI forum, however there is no longer any mod of that forum (at least, not that can be seen on the right-hand side of the forum index).

Secondly, another question asks which forum software is being used, but the answer (vBulletin) doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's a case-sensitivity issue?

Thirdly, one of the questions asks which version the forum software is running, but typing 3.8.8 does not work either.

Not a huge deal, since you can refresh the page to get a new question, but thought I'd mention it. Might wanna double check the other questions to make sure they're still answerable too; I didn't go through them all to check.

Cheers.

This (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=170860) might help with the mod question.

*poke* The questions still need to be fixed.

And maybe those questions should be less "doom9-centric" :sly:

Aren't they already rather generic? They used to be a lot more technical but the active questions vary greatly. I fixed the forum version one..
I've gone through the questions, as well as the registration questions and I hope I got them all now.

@HelmedHorror: Question #2 was written for an older version.. it should now be okay (should just be a copy&paste job really). That also applies to the third question.

The other one that was reported in error was the number of subforums in one of the forums, but I don't recall which now.

I think I got that, too.. I recounted and adapted some counting questions. But if anybody sees something that's not correct, let me know so I can fix it.
