few questions

this is my first post for me here :)

first I would like to thank madshi for madVR!

second I have few questions:

1-what is the difference between dx9 & dx11 in madvr ?

2-I watch on my pc 720p & 1080p movies/videos from 2gb to 5gb and most of the movies/videos I notice a lot of noise
so how I can get rid of noise completely or at least minimize it a lot using madvr ?

3-my monitor is benq xl2420z and it's black level/color is not good
I already calibrate my monitor, so is there a way I can get better black level/color in movies/videos using madvr ?

4-what setting do you think is good for 720p & 1080p movies/videos from 2gb to 5gb and for 480p/720p anime in madvr ?

I'm using mpc-hc player

1: the directx version that is used. DX11 can do 10 bit output unlike dx9 this is useful for TV that support more than 8 bit as input bit deep. you can ignore this a xl2420z is a 6 bit tn panel.

2: try a pixel shader like the denoise in mpc-hc.

3: the xl2420z has very bad gamut and a pretty bad CR nothing madVR can do about. it's a high end gaming monitor. it is build for low latency and high frame rate not picture quality. you could try to create a 3D LUT to kind of fix the colors but that's it.

4: i like spline 3 AR for everything.

I don't like denoise because it blurs a lot
about xl2420z I didn't know the black level of my monitor is bad
I had old samsung tn monitor 2009 and it was much better!
so I thought xl2420z will be better or at least the same

if not the CR is at about 1100 i have a display with the exact same panel.
