please tell me how to play Divx/AC3 on win98

I have tested for a long time.
I really want to hear AC3(5.1) in win98 with media player!!
my system is winxp in C: & win98 in F:
I have use the filter for AC3 and modified it to fit win98 in F:
and I just can hear 2.0 sound !! why ? why ?
somebody help me , I have tested for half year!!!

of course I tried ...
May those who doesn't succeed in Divx/AC3 reply me , ok ?
sometimes, I can got 5.1 channel ,but sound position not correct!
not the same as I hear in DVD with winDVD!
frontal is louder than rear ...
I don't know how can make this perfectly !
