Hello,

I tried to play with options and resizers of x264 to get similar image as the original video but I just can't do it. I tried to blur the image by 6 using deblocker. I even tried to change the bitrate and psy/AQ settings to get something similar but I just can't. Can someone take a look at these cuts and tell me how to get similar image using x264? Is it even possible?

cabac=1 / ref=4 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x3:0x113 / me=umh / subme=9 / psy=1 / psy_rd=0.40:0.00 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=32 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=12 / lookahead_threads=2 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=8 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=300 / keyint_min=30 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=60 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=19.5 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:0.60

+ 8 bit + 2,5k bitrate / 720p (I tried even 20k bitrate)
http://img4host.net/upload/262257055564de214d8c8.jpg that's my encode

and this one is the original 8 bit + 2,5k bitrate / 480p codec vm3

Thanks for your help in advance.

What do you mean by "similar" and what isn't similar. Why are you upscaling?

Post a 1-minute snip of your original source (use DGIndex if it's MPEG2, or mkvmerge with split turned on if it's not), your full script or process for upscaling, and the x264 command-line if you can get access it. (It's usually in a log somewhere.) Also what you're decoding it in, just in case that's blurring it.

I'm going to say now though that if 20k doesn't get you details, the problem is in your upscaling and denoising, not x264.
