hi

i've got a problem scince i have windows xp installed. when i start a movie with ac3 on the spdif out it's synced, but when i forward it with the slidebar, video and audio aren't synced any more by half a second or somethin like that. it's the same with wmp and bsplayer. when i switch to only 2 speakers in the intervideo audio dec. it runs normaly. it runned on win 98 or me without any issues, but on win 2000 and xp it's fucked. does anybody know how to solve this problem? i dont want to watch my divx with ac3 with only 2 speakers output.

ah btw, i've got the creative sb live player 5.1 soundcard with the newest drivers.

Hi

i dont have this problem on my computer (its p3 1000mhz , altough i got other problem as i mentiod in differnet thread) , but my friend got this problem (he got p2 400mhz) so maybe your cpu/memory is bit slow to decode 5 channels , try to reduce the divx quality maybe.

ehm sorry but i have a athlon 1600+ xp and a gf3 ti 200, 512 mb ram...i think this is enough for the highest quality :) and i had no problems on win me, even when i had only a 800 duron so it's definatly xp's fault.

Have you tried PowerDivX 3.12 or ZP 2.40? I have no sync issues with either player on XP.

I don't use SoundBlasters though :)

What player are you using? I use bsplayer to play ac3 encoded divx files and have no problems on xp pro.

BTW, I have a Thunderbird 800 and a Soundblaster Live!

@dragoman

I just posted a rough draft of an AC3/SPDIF FAQ today. Have a look and perhaps something might be able to help out. Feel free to post any comments there also.

It doesn't MaTTeR which player I use, they all work:) BSplayer, ZoomPlayer and PowerDivX. I suspect your problems are mostly the SB card unfortunately.

@ MaTTer

I wasn't asking you what player you use. I was talking to Frosty...

Sorry for the confusion.

No, I have no problems playing back ac3 encoded divx on my system...
