A lot of people are still using DVD-RB Pro, as nothing can touch it for quality and accuracy, plus the ability to use AviSynth, but it does have one downfall in keep updated with modern encoding
The filenames are only a maximum of 31 characters, which is fine for DVD filename but not so good if doing a big batch encode overnight or while you are away doing other things
For example :
I use a folder for my rips to keep it clean, and sensible filenames of my rips so I can see exactly what disc is what without having to guess from a shortened filename
So .....
Rips/Monty Pythons Flying Circus - Series 1 Disc 1
Rips/Monty Pythons Flying Circus - Series 1 Disc 2
Rips/Monty Pythons Flying Circus - Series 2 Disc 1
Rips/Monty Pythons Flying Circus - Series 2 Disc 1
Rips/British Transport Films Collection Volume 01 - On and Off The Rails - Disc 1
Rips/British Transport Films Collection Volume 01 - On and Off The Rails - Disc 2
Rips/British Transport Films Collection Volume 02 - See Britain By Train - Disc 1
Rips/British Transport Films Collection Volume 02 - See Britain By Train - Disc 2
When run as a batch project, DVD-RB automatically truncates these to the first 31 characters, so you end up with processed rips being overwritten as the filenames are now the same, which after running a lengthy batch with filtering for grain, scratches and other tweaks means I have to rename all the disc filenames to less than 31 characters but still make sense so I know what has been processed when I start to burn the filtered versions of my backup rips of the originals
Basically, anything over 31 characters is ignored by DVD-RB Pro
Is it possible to updated DVD-RB Pro to accept upto 255 characters (I think this is the maximum for filenames by Windows)
And if possible, a separate ID that would be used purely for the disc name and nothing else, so the filename could be over 31 characters without effecting the actual DVD name
Thanks
