TV-picture-problem with VirtualDub (viloet background)

Hello, when I switch in VirtualDub to capturing mode and move the VirtualDub window, the TV-picture doesn’t move with it. Instead the space beyond the TV-picture is violet. What could be the reason and what could be the solution to this problem? Did anyone make similar experience?

This is an error with overlay.
It's caused by you VGA drivers.

This mostly happens on systems with VGA built into the mainboard chipset, on systems with low memory - and on systems with odd drivers...

Thank you for the answer. This problem didn’t happen before. It’s just since yesterday. the specifications of my PC are: 1 GHz Chip, 128 RAM, fast 40 MG hard drive, VIA Chipset. I thought this hardware should be enough to avoid things like that. You have an suggestion?

What did you change before this started to happen? New drivers of any kind? Any additional software package installed?

I'm not really sure. But I installed a latency patch because I have a VIA chipset and then I also installed the avi_io-application for capturing video.

moreover I UNinstalled WinVCR trial version with some (maybe shared???) files.

Sounds like a fresh install is necessary to me ;)

I installen WindowsME again, uninstalled and installed again Hauppauge's software, installed the GeforceII softwara again, but nothing helped.

Hm, did I get this right:

You got that problem, did a clean install of WinME again, installed the TV card's software, uninstalled it, installed actual nvidia drivers?

Sounds like nothing problematical to me.

Maybe just fresh install (clean! format that partition!) your windows again, install all drivers necessary - and then try again!

No experiments with software - if ou know what you need install just that. Everything else leads to a unstable system with unpredictable behaviour.

If this is really necessary I'll do so. The problem is, I have also Linux on a second partition on my PC. You know how just to clean the Windows partition?

format c: will perfectly do. DOS can't "see" linux partitions. Just take care that your windows partition is the active one for that moment!

You sshould have a linux boot disk handy for that case to reinstall lilo again (or if you use a bootmanager like I do, have that one on a disk...).
