Hi,

could anybody advice me howto join a AC3 file with a THD file?

Some year ago I bougt a HDDVD (with TrueHD Track in my language). This Format als we know did not win the battle...so I bought the Film ones more as Blu Ray disc (grrrr).

On Blu Ray I get only AC3 in my language (TrueHD like most just in English).

So unfortunately I just cannot use tsMuxeR because I have only THD file by extracting the audio file (HDDVD had other specifications than Blu Ray discs where you also need the AC3 core).

So how do I merge my AC3-core with THD so that I get one AC3 file with TrueHD in it?

Could anybody help me...?

Thanks in advance...

Martin

I don't know any program to merge them but eac3to (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966) should be able to encode an ac3 core from a pure TrueHD file and create a new core+lossless file:
eac3to.exe input.thd output.thd+ac3

Ok...I will try it and come back later.

You import them as separate files into Scenarist for authoring, but that's probably overkill for what you are trying to do... But if you happen to have Scenarist, import the THD, link it to the AC3, mux (with the video), then tsMuxer will be able to handle it...

But I think the eac3to technique would be a lot easier. :)

I used that too somewhere in the past and it did indeed work.

Personally, I use UsEac3To (v1.1.5) with eac3to v3.28.

Just drag and drop the 'core-less' TrueHD stream into the applications window. Select the 'thd+ac3' drop-down option, followed by the 'Add' button (see image): -

Then press the 'RUN CL' button. After a few moments you should end up with a TrueHD+AC3 audio stream ;)

EDIT: I have just tried with eac3to v3.29. But the finished file sounds corrupted ;)

I always received error show below:

TrueHD, 5.1 channels, 96kHz
thd, 96000, 5.1
Decoding with libav/ffmpeg...
Remapping channels...
Encoding AC3 <640kbps> with libAften...

TrueHD, 5.1 channels, 96kHz

Maybe don't work because 96KHz isn't supported by AC3.
Try:

eac3to input.thd output.thd+ac3 -resampleTo48000

I saw some audio Dolby TrueHD track with DN-4dB. Anybody can explain for me. What's DN -4dB and how to setup in Dolby media producer Suite. For example:

Dolby TrueHD Audio English 1734 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 1734 kbps / 16-bit (AC3 Embedded: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 640 kbps / DN -4dB)

In DMP it is called "Dialog Level" in "Encoder Setup - Encoder Settings"
