Open all video and audio containers on AviSynth... When?

Hi,

Why doesn't AviSynth development team put natively the possibility of open all video and audio containers, without have to write DirectShow or every other function?
And split all video into his frames?
The color space conversion on AviSynth is lossy (Integer) or lossless (Floating point)?

When I said all audio and video containers, I wanted say all codecs: the VFW and DirectShow.
When I said lossy or lossless conversion between color spaces, I wanted say if the results is kept in floating point form or if it is turned to integer forn.
