I have got a *.mkv video file where the two audio tracks are switched:

track 1: officially: german - real: english
track 2: officially: english - real: german

Obviously something went wrong during encoding.

How can I now repair the MKV video file without re-encoding?

I could imagine that there must be a bit in video file header be patched.

Possibly there is a tool (Avidemux, Xmedia recode) which let me do this as well.

Surely the best would be to remux the MKV from your originals and paying attention to the correct order and/or labelling :) :)

remux with mkvmerge. Probably another way, but I've never had to use it.
